Been a while.

I had a great dream while in Mexico on vacation. I dreamt that my daughter had a twin that I had never recognised. The twin's name was Eva. I felt so bad because I had only ever recognized the both of them as one person.

That was wierd.

I had a very fun weekend. No date on friday night so I spent more time working on my grad school project. I had been planning to use a video game called "Counter Strike" to build a virtual environment for a training project. But after having some difficulty understanding my degree program at the UW, I've found a professor there who recommended "Second Life". Wow - this looks quite advanced and has a lot of advantages for my project. Probably will blog more on this in the future.

THEN on Saturday, I was looking for a way to post my OFFLINE status so that my kids and friends could know where I am. I discovered that I can connect an MSN blog to my Messenger account and update the blog from my cellphone. So now I've created "Where is James?" at http://spaces.msn.com/jameschrislloyd - lol. How long til that slips into dis-use :)

So, now it's a full year since my last post. Very very very much the slacker I am. As bad as my grad school work - I was last in class in 2003! Now I'm in class again, but will I stay? It's like a crazy dream, I'm constantly trying to get help and person A says talk to person B and person B says talk to person A. I guess as long as I'm paying tuition everyone seems sanquine - except me of course. And why the hell am I in school anyway? I don't expect a career in the field of my studies. It must be only vanity - that's probably why I started. What a waste. Like driving my car. I love driving my car, but it is so wasteful. I should go to hell for that alone. Thank God I don't believe in hell.

Dudes,

I now have an xbox communicator. It took me all night last night but I found probably the only communicator in Madison.

Here was my journey:

Best Buy - sold out
Software, etc. - sold out
FYE - sold out
Sam goody - sold out
Shopko - sold out
Target - sold out
CompUSA - sold out
GameSpot - sold out
Circuit City - sold out
Preplayes - yeah, right like they'd ever have one
Toys R Us - the guy at the counter found one UNDER the display rack - he was shocked as much as I was!!!

My last resort was going to be Walmart, but I bet they were sold out too.

btw - I've got my MSN messenger set to send an alert to my cell phone whenever an Xbox friend comes online - sweet huh?!

I had the strangest dream last night - probably because I had some Oreos and milk before bed. Anyway, I was in a home with my friends (we all lived together) and their kids. One of the kids had regular spectral occurences that only I was discovering. Radios suddenly turning on, doors opening, etc. At last I was with other adults when the radio in the room turned on. I went into the room and saw the child laying in bed then looked into the corner of the room and above some bookcases I saw a hooded robe, empty of any body. In a moment I threw myself headfirst into the hood of the robe and as my vision was obscured I instantly awoke.

What surprises me about this dream is my disregard for my own safety and the strange response to jump into the apparition - why? To learn more about it? To stop it? I would really like to know what would have happened if I had not awaken. Once conscious and thinking about the dream I had the realization that for some reason the myth of ghosts, aliens and such all have the common element that these things are hiding from conscious humans. Is that to say that these things are afraid of us?

Very weird and intense dream.

God, the blogapocalypse is almost a month's old news. It still sucks. I went to Columbus Ohio and had a great time at Marcon - Multiple Alternate Realities Convention. Who would have thought the nerds and dweebs would throw alcohol-soaked grope-fests till 3 in the morning? I had a great time and I'd like to go again. I videotaped just a wee bit of it. Maybe someday I'll edit it into something, though I doubt it. I didn't have any vision of what I was making. I got some good footage of Jack Vance, a great writer according to Interrobang. I really enjoy the meager selection I have read, and I have lot to learn - though I did get two books signed by Jack. It was inspiring to go there, but two days back at work and I'm deep into my old patterns again. Stasis field engaged.
