What it's all about. What's it all about?

Last post I figured out how to hide my name - whoo hoo, now I can say anything!

So I was all bent out of shape in September and October about finding a romantic partner. Moaned about it on my first blog post. Spent way too much time on the personals pages, signed up for more than one, and started corresponding with all these ladies. I've met two of them en personne, and still find that no matter how much we work to figure each other out in words, the DJ phenomenon is still interruptive. Even with a photo, we bend and twist the image to fit the person perceived behind the words.

And now, with my birthday I suddenly don't care anymore about that. I like my life and enjoy some time alone. Maybe it really was chemical or hormonal or circadian - I've cut back on the solicitations and feel just fine.

Funny thing - I sent a link to my co-workers about Black Tuesday being my birthday and saw the same thing on metafilter. Now I really think my birthday means something about me (I think everything is about me, or so my old girlfriends have told me - I'm so Heinz Ketchup Vain). And I'm a Scorpio, baby. Anyway, I found that this site had an good re-spin on Black Tuesday - nothing, not even the bad things, are ever what they seem. Except for the Thunderbirds. They're puppets on strings.

My favorite color is yellow. Not for any particular reason but because it seemed like my signature. This summer I went to a reunion of my mother's family in the southwest corner of the county. It was at the church I went to as a kid. I left the party in the basement and went upstairs to the main part of the church and what did I see, really for the first time? It was yellow, all yellow. The paint on the walls, yellow. The stained glass windows are yellow so too therefore the light landing on the paint. It was so simple a realization but it was so strange to see it for the first time. I'm 41 on Tuesday. I guess it's about time I figured this out. What other things from that place are still unseen in or by me?
